Did you know that the Porter County Animal Shelter is a “no kill” shelter? That means that animals that come to shelter stay there until they are adopted, even if it takes a while! Help support this amazing animal loving place...bring in your dollars next week! Each dollar donated will get you a paw print for your homeroom door. The door with the most paw prints for each grade level will win PUPPY CHOW!!!

Happy Friday from the media center! First, great job to all of the students participating in the Scrabble Reading Challenge! If you want to receive fun prizes, such as candy or a scented bookmark, see Mrs. Hurley after you have completed a Reading Counts quiz to draw your letters. Students who can spell words that include 10 or more letters will receive a book fair prize, a Viking Pride card, a scented bookmark, and a pencil or piece of candy. Start playing today!

Also, today is the last day to contribute a leaf to our Poet Tree. Mrs. Hurley will reward all participants with a small prize and will draw one name to receive a Pride Card. Well done to those of you who have already participated!

Finally, our book fair will be held from Monday, May 15 through Monday, May 22. If you’re interested in helping with the book fair, please see Mrs. Hurley or send her an email letting her know. She will send a message to interested students on Monday with a task list. Again, students who complete their task list will receive a book fair prize and will also receive a Pride Card for positive participation.
